A guide to skating Fredericksburg (and the Hill Country)

by Joe April 19, 2026 5 min read

Home base is the Fredericksburg Skate Park on E Ufer St, inside Old Fair Park. Free, concrete, dawn-to-dusk. It's small but it flows. Mornings are quiet. Evenings get the regulars.

When you've burned out on the home park, your two best drives are:

Kerrville (about an hour south). Inside Singing Wind Park at 800 N Singing Wind Dr. Bigger spread, different lines. Worth a Saturday.

Boerne (a bit further, but bigger reward). Northside Community Park. Bowls and street features mixed. Bring water — Texas does what Texas does.

Bonus tip: the drainage ditches around Fredericksburg are part of the lineage of this scene (look up the church-gym story if you don't know it). Don't be a kook about it. Skate the park. Respect the spots.
